Data Community Lead
At The Millson Group, our Data Community Lead plays a central role in helping organizations build strong, scalable, and empowered analytics cultures.
This role bridges the gap between technical data infrastructure and business-facing insights, ensuring that data is not only accessible and reliable, but also actively adopted across teams. From designing modern reporting environments to training users in everyday analytics tools, the Data Community Lead helps companies turn data into a shared capability, not a siloed function.
Key Focus Areas
Analytics & Business Intelligence Enablement
Lead the development and adoption of analytics tools such as Power BI, Excel, and enterprise reporting platforms to support decision-making across the organization.Data Infrastructure to Visualization
Support the full analytics pipeline—from SQL-based data modeling and transformation through dashboarding, KPI reporting, and executive-ready insights.Training & Community Building
Create internal data communities through hands-on training, documentation, and support that empowers teams to confidently use and develop analytics in their daily work.Standardization & Best Practices
Establish reporting standards, governance practices, and scalable analytics frameworks that ensure consistency, accuracy, and long-term growth.Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with business leaders, operations teams, and technical stakeholders to align analytics initiatives with organizational priorities.
Impact
The Data Community Lead helps clients move beyond isolated reporting toward a culture where data is understood, trusted, and actively used throughout the organization. By combining technical expertise with enablement and leadership, this role ensures analytics becomes a lasting capability—not just a project deliverable.
Performance Objectives
Maintaining strong relationships with current clients through meetings on current work, ideation, touch bases, and providing recommendations.
Data analytics into client's data to understand opportunities for improvements and create actions for continued progress.
Searching for or creating data where it is not organized today. This will require knowledge of database architecture and methods of reading big data in a simple way.
Evaluating the functionality and success of previously implemented solutions.
Brainstorming with others at The Millson Group to create project plans and actions relating to current projects.
Travel to client's locations for meetings, time studies, and project reviews when needed (1-3x / quarter)
Necessary skills include
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Data Analytics
Proven portfolio of completed projects in data analytics
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in project management and team management
A willingness and proven background in self-learning of new skills or coding languages
SQL / Excel / Power BI
Data Modeling & Infrastructure
Preferred skills (or skills that you are willing to learn)
ERP Systems
Other languages (Python, R, Java)
Tableau and other Business Intelligence Tools
